Good, Better, Best! AND cookies!

Paper Doll Formals is different from other bridal boutiques on lower Vancouver Island. We like to have fun while helping you find a great gown, of course you know about our delicious cookies at the front desk... but did you know we offer free stuff?

First, there's the Bridal Punch Card...

Essentially, you get Free Stuff when you purchase other stuff from us. And it's stuff that you need anyway:

Buy your dress, veil and headpiece and you can chose a free garter from our catalogue.

Buy either two mother's dresses or a mother's and a flower girl's dress, receive toasting glasses.

Buy all your bridesmaid dresses from us, and everyone gets a set of Sole Mates for the shoes.

Speaking of shoes, buy yours and the the bridesmaids buy all theirs, and you receive a jewelry set.

When there are four men in the wedding party (including fathers), your groom gets his for free.

Secondly, we give you the Bridal Perks Package.

This amazing folder is full of vouchers for discounts and value-added items from local wedding vendors to help you save money. Only Paper Doll Brides receive our exclusive Perks Package.

Some of the vendors involved are:

There's about a dozen more, and they can all be found at this page on our website.

And last, but not least, you can get your dress for FREE!

That's right!

Free!

When a bride refers 8 of her friends to us before her first anniversary, and once the 8th woman purchases her dress from us, we reimburse that original bride the cost of her dress (minus taxes).

As far as we're aware, we're the ONLY store on Vancouver Island that offers you a free dress.

Now, if you're only looking for the best price on something, you can shop around from Courtenay to Victoria and back, searching out the least expensive items for your wedding.

However, if you're searching for a unique buying experience for the most important clothing you'll ever wear, then Paper Doll must be on your list of shops to enter.

Paper Doll has gowns not found elsewhere on Vancouver Island, BC, and even Canada.

We try our hardest to please our customers. We will order in gowns for you, hunt down the perfect pair of shoes, and find the most amazing headpieces and veils for you.

Come in to see us soon. Those cookies are very tempting...

Dress of the Week - Forever Yours "Shapely"

This week's dress isn't much on the hanger, but it's amazing on a woman!

This lovely satin sheath dress never fails to surprise and delight our brides who try it on.

The fashionable one-shoulder strap (which can be removed) adds a touch of fantasy with flowers from front to back.

The slight sweetheart neckline begins with angled pleats that follow the body all the way down to the floor.

These pleats highlight a woman's curves while hiding bumps. This is a very flattering dress on all sizes of woman. It creates a shape that is flattering and elegant for the bride who looks her best in a sheath or mermaid style dress.

The pleats fall elegantly to the floor, ending in a small bubble hem giving a nice finish to the gown. The small train makes this dress perfect for an outdoor or destination wedding.

The back is a lovely lace-up corset, and while the ribbon can only be ordered in the same colour as the gown, it is simply the cost of fabric and about $30 for our seamstress to change that out to any colour you choose to accent the gown with.

This lovely dress is available from Forever Yours Bridals in white, ivory or cafe colours, from sizes 2-32. Forever Yours offers rush cuts for a small fee and the gown's price is very affordable.

Paper Doll Formals has this gown in stock right now for you to try on and fall in love with for your wedding day.

Dress of the Week - Nina Duong's Janet

This dress is a knock-out!

From top to bottom, Janet has heads turning and brides falling in love.

The top of this exquisite silk shantung dress is edged in delicate black lace, following the sweetheart neckline from front to back.

The sheath hugs the body to just above the knee, where it flows out into a delightful pickup skirt, highlighted with black flowers.

The secret in the skirt is a delicate pearl hidden in the each of the pickups. They add a lovely touch of elegance to the chapel-length train.

The inside of this dress is lined from top to bottom, and the smaller layers of crinloline flare out the skirt to make it float around your legs.

Janet is part of Nina Duong Haute Couture's Paris Collection, and can only be found outside of Ontario at Paper Doll Formals.

This hand-created gown is a very affordable couture option and will make any bride feel like royalty once she tries it on.

Dress of the Week - Jasmine "Glamour Girl"

I try not to do two DotW from the same manufacturer in a row, but this gown has just arrived and it's amazing:

From Jasmine Bridal, this gown is a stunner! Created in a lovely light taffeta, this gown is elegance from top to bottom.

Delicate beading along the top of the sweetheart neckline is the only sparkle on this dress, but the dress catches the light as it moves, so it doesn't need more.

The fabric is on the diagonal and the close-fitting sheath falls to the knee, where it flares out into a lovely draped skirt.

The back has its own surprise in store! Ruffles of taffeta fall along the back seam, all the way to the lovely chapel-length train.

The inside of the gown has Jasmine's typical waist band that holds the gown closely to the body, and the internal corset ensures a snug and complete fit to you.

Available in Creme, Gold, Ivory and White this gown is priced very reasonably and is available for trying on at Paper Doll Formals NOW!

Dress of the Week - Jasmine "Fit For A Queen"

This week's dress is a classic - but only until the end of this month!

By Jasmine bridal, this dress is elegant and awe-inspiring. The intricately beaded and embroidered Italian Satin strapless neckline catches the light as you move, lighting up your face.

The waist is surrounded by a band of satin that is gathered in front with a beautiful, delicately beaded applique.

The perfect a-line skirt continues the beading and embroidery all the way down, creating a lovely pattern across the whole skirt, including along the 75" Tiffany Train. This cut is especially flattering on women with hour-glass figures (large bust, large hips).

The back of the dress is lovely too with a corset/lace-up back that goes to the tailbone. The ties are long enough to trail elegantly along the back of the skirt.

The inside of this dress is up to Jasmine's usual high standards with an internal boning that holds the shape of the bodice to you without causing discomfort.
This dress is available in white, ivory, creme and gold from sizes 4-28... but ONLY until June 30th. After this date, the dress is no longer available for re-order and you will only be able to purchase the sample... if you can find it in your size!

Paper Doll Formals has this dress IN STOCK now, in sample size 20. Until the end of this month, ALL re-orders of this dress are 10% off the selling price, and if you purchase the dress off the rack AS IS, you will receive 20% off the selling price.

Do not delay - come in to see this dress (and two others that are also discontinued at the end of this month) and see if it's YOUR dress. We'd hate for you to miss out on the perfect dress for your wedding.

Dress of the Week - 2Be in Lace

This week's dress is a dream of lace and tulle.

This strapless empire gown is class from top to bottom.

The strapless sweetheart neckline is highlighted by a row of beads that gathers the rushed bust and is bracketed by more glistening beads and sparkles.

The internal waist band and corset holds the dress to your body, giving a lovely shape while the dress falls to the floor in a classic empire sillhouette.

The lace applique overlay is not fussy, and the skirt ends in a lovely, floaty embroidered hem.

What makes this dress magical is the back.

Tulle is gathered at the back and is allowed to fall to a lovely chapel length train, ending in more embroidery.

Check out this dress at Kathy Ireland's 2Be Bridal and then try it on at Paper Doll Formals.

Dress of the Week - Jasmine "Meringue Swirl"

This week's Dress is not much on a hangar, but on a bride, it's AMAZING!

From Jasmine Bridal, this ball-gown dress is a fairy-tale concoction of organza and Italian satin.

The strapless bodice is edged in delicate beading, with beading throughout the rushed bodice on the organza. Inside is a strap that holds the bodice tightly to your waist, giving you a spectacular silhouette. The beading is echoed along the bottom of the bodice.

The ball-gown skirt then lightly flairs out to delightful organza swirls throughout, including down the chapel-length train.

The back is half zipper/half lace-up. The laces are well-made satin and lay flat against your back.

This dress is available in Creme, Gold, Ivory and White, from sizes 4-28!

Paper Doll Formals has this gown in Ivory, and it's a delight to wear. Come in soon to see how lovely you'll look in this dress!
